Running for the Legislature
The Province holds the levers that make or break a technology capital: BC Hydro, post-secondary seats, health care and the laws on AI.
When is the next provincial election?
British Columbia’s last general election was on October 24, 2026. Under section 23 of the Constitution Act, the next is due on the third Saturday of October in the fourth calendar year after that, which is 2030.
That date would overlap with the general local elections on October 19, 2030. In that case the law has cabinet set a different date, after consulting the Chief Electoral Officer and party leaders. A government can also fall or call an election earlier, and by-elections can happen at any time. We are preparing as if the next race could come sooner than scheduled.
What we are doing now
- Preparing to register with Elections BC.
- Building local teams in BC’s electoral districts.
- Recruiting candidates who want to run with this platform and follow the public decision protocol.
- Testing and costing the draft platform, in public.
How our MLAs would work
Our MLAs would be people, elected by their communities and accountable to them. They would publish the questions they put to AI, the answers they got and what they did about them, on the same public log.
