The AI Party of BC in Surrey
Surrey is where party leader Harry Gill’s company, AdaptAI, is based. It is also a clear test of our idea that tech growth shouldn’t stop at downtown Vancouver.
What matters here
Through AdaptAI, Harry works with businesses across Metro Vancouver, including construction, restaurants and professional services. The pattern he describes is familiar: large corporations have whole teams working on AI, while small businesses are left to figure it out alone.
Simon Fraser University has a campus in Surrey, and SkyTrain connects the city to the rest of the region. Those are the foundations of a tech hub: people, training and transit.
For Surrey, our platform focuses on regional hubs anchored at colleges and universities, reskilling places open to mid-career workers and faster building approvals.
Three priorities for Surrey
Regional tech hubs
Back hubs outside downtown Vancouver, anchored at local colleges and universities.
Training close to home
New tech seats and reskilling places for people already working here.
Faster approvals
One digital permit application and a public clock on how long each one takes.
Running for city hall in Surrey
The next general local elections are on October 19, 2030, About 1,450 days away. We have no chapter or candidate in Surrey yet. To endorse a mayoral candidate here, we would need a registered elector organization with at least 50 members in this community.
